Cahn C-31 (010931-01)

Overview
The Cahn C31 is a very sensitive weight and force measurement instrument. It is designed for weights and forces up to 3.5 grams and is sensitive to changes as small as 0.1 micrograms. It may be described as a force-to-current converter. (Product Specifications)

Testing and Evaluation
NLS technicians tested and evaluated this microbalance, noting it takes several minutes to 'ready.' The instrument was powered on and performed an E3 on calibration, indicating the calibrating weight is not in the calibration range (Which makes sense considering no calibration weight was used.). The weight pans were not acquired with this Cahn. All buttons move and are responsive, but the technicians recommend a professional calibration, and any buyer should note that they will need to acquire weigh pans for the instrument.

Condition
This product shows obvious signs of aging, but remains functional. There are pans required for application that NLS did not acquire.
