Agilent AGILENT 8509B Lightwave Polarization Analyzer

The Agilent 8509B lightwave polarization analyzer system offers calibrated polarization measurements of optical signals and components. These capabilities are provided by innovations in hardware, software. and mathematics. Hardware contributions include a four-diode detection scheme covering 1200 nm to 1600 nm. An automatic three-state polarization generator is provided within the Agilent 8509B. Fabry-Perot internal lasers, 1300 to 1550 nm, can be ordered as an option. External single-wavelength or swept-wavelength sources can also be used. The Agilent 8509B measures the state of polarization (SOP) of optical signals. Stokes parameter and relative angle comparisons between data points are simplified with three data markers. Measurement accuracy is increased by using known polarization standards to create defined polarization reference frames before signals are tested. Receiver Characteristics.
