Perkin Elmer Lambda 2 spectrometer. This spectrometer powers on, initalizes, and both the UV and VIS lamps turned on. We only had one cuvette so we left the back background one blank. We set the wavelength to 500 nM and zeroed the background. Then put some diluted orange dye in the front cuvette and obtained a positive reading of 0.213 ABS. Then we removed the cuvette with dye and obtained a reading of zero again, see photos. We put the cuvette with orange dye back and it read 0.213 ABS again. This spectrometer was not tested any further and it is sold as is without a warranty. The beaker and dye were used for testing and are not included.
