Model 900-398B Macro Vickers Hardness Tester Includes Video Camera, Adapter and Auto Measurement Software.
Introducing Phase II's advanced line of state-of-the-art Macro Vickers Hardness Testers. A precise testing system that is suitable for hardness analysis of metallic specimens in metallography laboratories or production environments. Versatile and user-friendly systems, Phase II Macro-Vickers Hardness Testers are designed for the accurate hardness testing of small precision parts, case hardened layers, thin materials, and all sorts of steel parts. Where the Vickers Microhardness Testers leave off, the Macro Vickers picks up. With digital technology, the 900398 macro vickers hardness tester has a 1Kg to 50Kg load range. This tester, which includes precision video and a measurement software package, is engineered to produce an indentation that is clear and provide precise measurement results. The Macro Vickers uses a CPU to control the load cell testing force (load/dwell/unload) to obtain the highest degree of accuracy.
A large LCD screen shows; measuring methods, testing force, indentation length, hardness value, number of measurements, and dwell time of testing force. Diagonal lines length of indentation, hardness values, data statistics and hardness conversion can be displayed either on your LCD screen or on your laptop or PC.
Here is the amazing thing about this system. Phase II has assembled a package that includes a Video Camera, Adapter, USB Output Cable and Measurement Software giving you the capabilities of machines that cost thousands more. This tester conforms to ASTM E-384/92 Vickers hardness testers standards and will offer unmatched repeatability.

The 900-398 is available in two models; A & B. What is the difference between them?
900-398A: comes with video cam and software but the software will not control the turret and it does not have “Auto-Measure” feature. All measurements must be done manually by using your mouse to click on the points of the indentation.
900-398B: same as above but the software has the Auto-Measure feature. The software will automatically measure the indentation.
What is the difference between manual measurement software and automatic measurement software?
Manual measurement software requires the operator to choose the measuring points on a computer screen using a mouse. The automatic measurement software is much simpler in that the measuring points are determined automatically. This results in a quicker and more consistently accurate measurement.
What Load Range does the 900-398 series cover?
Load Range 1Kg to 50Kg
What is the warranty for this tester?
The Phase II Macro Vickers Testers are warrantied for 5 years and have free lifetime technical support.
