National Instruments PXI-8109 PXI Controller
Featured with a 2.66 GHz Intel Core i7-620M processor and two Gigabit Ethernet ports, the NI PXI-8109 (Part Numbers: 781453-00, 781454-00, 781453-01, 781454-01, 781453-04, 781454-04, 781453-33, and 781454-33) is a PXI Embedded Controller. This controller comes with a versatile range of communication and I/O interfaces, including two Ethernet ports, USB, and GPIB. This Embedded Computer is a complete package since it comes with various I/O and state-of-the-art packaging. In its standard configuration, the PXI-8109 features one DVI-I video port, one RS-232 serial port, four high-speed USB 2.0 ports, one parallel port, and one GPIB controller. You can easily install Windows 7 or Windows XP on this Embedded Computer using a USB CD-ROM drive.
The processor incorporated in this PXI Controller is a dual-core Intel Core i7-620M processor. The National Instruments PXI-8109 PXI Controller is a modular PC, which supports several onboard storage options, including an internal hard drive and ExpressCard expansion cards. This PXI Controller can easily be installed and removed from a PXI chassis through simple methods. With this PXI Controller, you can have your processor-intensive applications run smoothly, since it fully supports Intel Hyper-Threading and Turbo Boost technologies. Hyper-Threading can be enabled or disabled through BIOS settings, and users can manually configure the controller to use either one or two CPU cores. In its default configuration, the NI PXI-8109 operates with two CPU cores enabled.
This PXI Controller supports PXI trigger connectivity and comes with a front panel SMB connector for PXI trigger routing. This model has two SO-DIMM sockets, supporting up to 8 GB of DDR3 RAM. You can upgrade the installed RAM by replacing the factory-installed DIMMs with PC3-8500 DDR3 SO-DIMMs.
PXI-8109 Obsolete Status has been announced by National Instruments, but the PXI Controller will still be available for purchase and repairs by Apex Waves in perpetuity.
