This External Controller is offered with a 1U height and comes with a broad range of digital I/O. The RMC-8355 External Controller for PXI can also be used as a routine computer. The NI RMC-8355 supports Microsoft Windows. With this External Controller for PXI, you will be able to use multiple hard drives and redundant power supplies. The provision of multiple hard drives makes the RMC-8355 an ideal solution for a variety of complicated industrial applications where rack-mount controllers are required.
The National Instruments RMC-8355 External Controller for PXI is offered with a Dual-Core Intel Xeon CPU that can operate at a maximum frequency of 2.4 GHz. Moreover, you can acquire and install a secondary processor for this PXI External Controller if required. This rugged Controller is based on the Intel 5520 chipset. In its default configuration, the NI RMC-8355 comes with 3 GB of RDIMM ECC DDR3 memory installed. However, you will be able to upgrade the controller in terms of memory because it supports up to 48 GB RAM.
The NI RMC-8355 External Controller for PXI has 2 Gigabit Ethernet controllers. Each controller can be accessed through a separate RJ-45 type port. In addition, the RMC-8355 has 1 serial port, 4 USB 2.0 ports, 1 VGA port, and standard PS/2 keyboard and mouse ports. The NI RMC-8355 supports redundant DC and AC power supplies.
