Astronics PXIe-1209 Dual Channel 100 MHz Pulse Generator

The Astronics PXIe-1209 (Part Number: 785033-01) is a dual-channel, 100 MHz PXI Express pulse generator designed for accurate timing and precise pulse generation for automated electrical test systems. The module occupies a single PXI Express peripheral or hybrid slot. Each channel has its own independent controls enabling the user to control the pulse delay, pulse width, double pulse spacings, pulse period, and so forth with resolution as fine as 10 picoseconds. Each channel has a set of trigger inputs on the front panel with user-selected software programmable thresholds with full PXI backplane triggering, enabling reliable timing over all the test platforms.

The PXIe-1209 has been developed for applications requiring close timing precision and provides ultra-low trigger jitter and real analog pulse outputs making it a modern PXI replacement for the old generation of lab and conventional pulse generators. The unit can be operated in various modes including single or continuous pulse, burst, double pulse and gated operation modes and provides wide flexibility in the possible control of the test environment. The generator provides capabilities for external triggering and asynchronous or synchronous gating which makes the unit ideally suited for use in timing additive units often found in radar, lidar, communication testing and fast semiconductor characterization.

The Astronics PXIe-1209 generator has a voltage output range of -1.5 V to 6.5 V with programmable slew rates from 0.625 to 2.5 V/ns allowing detailed control over the pulse shape and transition speed. The optional card features an internal clock which can be disciplined to an external 10 MHz reference clock ensuring accuracy and long-term reliability. The PXIe-1209 has high trigger repeatability, which enables optimum reliability during long tests involving complex test sequences.

Software support includes drivers for LabVIEW, LabWindows/CVI and also Visual Studio with an interactive control soft front panel with which to drive all necessary control functions. The PXIe-1209 is compact and rugged and CE certified and is an ideal fit for all applications in automated test systems requiring timing, precise analog pulse performance and accurate timing in all types of industrial sources, defense instruments and research instruments.
