National Instruments PCI-5114 Oscilloscope
The NI PCI-5114 Oscilloscope includes two 250 MS/s simultaneously sampled input channels with 8-bit resolution, 125 MHz analog bandwidth, and up to 512 MB of onboard memory (not 256 MB max) in a compact PCI form factor. The National Instruments Synchronization and Memory Core (SMC) architecture in the PCI-5114 enables users to synchronize multiple devices, build high-channel-count digitizers, and integrate with signal generators or advanced waveform analyzers. This module is well-suited for applications in communications, scientific research, military/aerospace, and consumer electronics.
This model offers three part numbers with varying onboard memory sizes: 779745-01 (8 MB/ch), 779745-02 (64 MB/ch), 779745-03 (512 MB/ch). The high-performance DMA engine included in this model provides high data throughput with minimal CPU usage. With support for hyper-threading and multiprocessor architectures, the PCI-5114 can leverage modern PC technology for faster data acquisition and processing. National Instruments offers intuitive, powerful software, including NI-SCOPE, that significantly reduces development time for measurement applications.
The self-calibration feature allows the device to automatically correct gain, offset, attenuator compensation, triggering, and timing errors for all input ranges upon a software command. External calibration aligns the voltage reference, gain, and the voltage-controlled crystal oscillator (VCXO), with calibration constants stored in nonvolatile memory.
The NI PCI-5114 supports 5 GS/s equivalent-time sampling (ETS) for repetitive signals, independent channel-selectable 40 mVpp to 40 Vpp input ranges, and independent channel-selectable 50 Ω or 1 MΩ input impedance. It can capture more than 1 million triggered waveforms in multi-record mode with hardware trigger rearming.
Apex Waves will continue to buy, sell, and repair EOL NI hardware indefinitely. While the PCI-5114 entered the NI Maintenance phase on December 30, 2022, it remains available through Apex Waves.
