National Instruments PXI-5105 PXI Oscilloscope
The NI PXI-5105 (Part Numbers: 195855B-02L, 779685-01, 779685-02, 779685-03) is a high-resolution digitizer and comes in three different variations with different onboard memory sizes; 16 MB (Part Number: 779685-01), 128 MB (Part Number: 779685-02), and 512 MB (Part Number: 779685-03). This PXI oscilloscope comes equipped with eight 60 MS/s simultaneously sampled input channels with 12-bit resolution and up to 60 MHz analog bandwidth in a 3U PXI module.
This model uses the National Instruments Synchronization and Memory Core (SMC) technology, allowing the user to synchronize multiple PXI-5105 modules using NI-TClk technology to develop up to 136 phase-coherent channels in one PXI chassis. The user can additionally synchronize a PXI-5105 with other digital and analog devices to create mixed-signal test systems. This PXI oscilloscope is ideal for a wide range of applications, including ultrasonic nondestructive testing (NDT), medical imaging, scientific research, military/aviation, and consumer electronics.
The PXI-5105 digitizer can be inserted into a PXI peripheral slot or a PXI Express Hybrid peripheral slot. This oscilloscope requires a PXI chassis, a PXI/CompactPCI chassis, or a PXI/SCXI combination chassis with a controller for operation. This module runs on the NI-SCOPE driver software, which should be installed after an Application Development Environment (ADE) such as LabVIEW, LabWindows/CVI, Measurement Studio, Microsoft Visual C/C++, or .NET (C# and VB.NET). The PXI-5105 can be configured using NI Measurement & Automation Explorer (MAX), which automatically installs with NI-SCOPE.
This model offers pre-trigger and post-trigger acquisition in single and multiple record mode, an internal 60 MHz clock or an external sample clock ranging from 4 to 65 MHz, phase-locked to the PXI 10 MHz reference or an external reference from 5 to 20 MHz, timestamp-triggered events with resolution equal to 1 Sample Clock timebase period, and up to 72 dBc spurious-free dynamic range (SFDR) for 50Ω inputs (70 dBc for 1MΩ inputs). The PXI-5105 has 8 SMB input connectors (CH0-CH7) and 1 SMB connector for PFI1 (programmable function interface for triggering and clocking). The device has an operating temperature of 0 °C to 55 °C, and calibration should be carried out at least once every two years.
The status of the PXI-5105 is considered to be Obsolete by the manufacturer National Instruments, but the PXI Oscilloscope will remain available in perpetuity for both purchase and repair services with Apex Waves!
