The Agilent N3300A Series is a family of modular DC electronic loads designed for manufacturing test, power supply characterization, and ATE integration. The series consists of two mainframes — the full-rack N3300A with six module slots and the half-rack N3301A with two module slots — populated with any combination of six interchangeable load modules. Each module is a programmable DC sink with independent constant current, constant voltage, and constant resistance modes, a built-in transient generator, and an integrated measurement system.
According to the datasheet, the N3300A Series is positioned for manufacturing test throughput improvement, lower cost of ownership in automated test systems, decreased system development time, and increased system reliability and flexibility. The datasheet specifically calls out applications including testing low-voltage power supplies (where the load remains stable down to zero volts), testing high-current power supplies (by paralleling modules), testing multiple-output DC power supplies and DC-DC converters with simultaneous measurement across all installed modules, and observing transient behavior using the built-in waveform digitizer in place of an external oscilloscope.
ValueTronics maintains an active inventory of legacy Agilent test and measurement instruments, including the N3300A Series electronic load mainframes and modules, at our 20,000 sq ft secure warehouse in Elgin, Illinois. Every {{CONDITION}} unit is processed by our in-house technical team at 1675 Cambridge Drive before it ships, so the buyer receives an instrument whose state has been documented rather than assumed. For test engineers maintaining production lines built around the N3300A platform, that operational depth — established inventory, in-house technical handling, and a direct line to people who recognize these part numbers — is the difference between an instrument that arrives ready for the rack and one that arrives as a question mark.
Brand Heritage
The N3300A Series was originally introduced under the Agilent Technologies brand. Hewlett-Packard spun out its test and measurement business as Agilent Technologies in 1999, and in 2014 Agilent's electronic measurement division was transferred to Keysight Technologies, which is the current manufacturer of record for instruments in this lineage. Units in the field may carry either the original Agilent badging shown on this datasheet or subsequent Keysight branding depending on the date of manufacture and any factory service history.
Compare Other Models in This Series
The N3300A Series is a modular family built around two mainframes and six load modules. The N3300A is a full-rack chassis with six module slots and approximately 440 VA input rating; the N3301A is a half-rack chassis with two module slots and approximately 230 VA input rating. Both mainframes share the same control interfaces, SCPI command set, measurement architecture, and module compatibility — the difference is module capacity and bench footprint.
Six load modules populate these mainframes. Three modules (N3302A, N3303A, N3304A, N3307A) occupy a single slot each, while the N3305A and N3306A each occupy two slots. Within the slot constraints of the chosen mainframe, any combination of modules can be installed, allowing a single chassis to sink current from low-voltage logic rails up to 240 V supplies, or up to 120 A on a single module.
Each module and mainframe linked below is its own product page with pre-owned-matched pricing and availability. Mainframes and modules are sold separately because the right configuration depends entirely on the customer's slot count, power level, voltage class, and existing fleet — there is no single 'correct' bundle for this series.
The six modules are differentiated primarily by voltage range, current range, and total power. The N3302A is the entry single-slot module at 150 W (0–30 A / 0–60 V). The N3303A is the high-voltage 250 W single-slot module (0–10 A / 0–240 V) — the only module in the series that reaches 240 V. The N3304A is a 300 W single-slot module (0–60 A / 0–60 V) optimized for moderate-voltage, higher-current work.
The two double-slot modules cover the higher-power envelope. The N3305A delivers 500 W at 0–60 A and 0–150 V, and the N3306A delivers 600 W at 0–120 A and 0–60 V — the highest current and total power module in the series. Refer to the comparison table that follows for the per-module current, voltage, power, and measurement accuracy figures as published in the datasheet.

Important: Maximum continuous power is derated linearly from 100% of maximum at 40 °C to 75% of maximum at 55 °C. Below 3 V, the maximum bandwidth of the electronic load is reduced by a factor of ten relative to the rated slew rate.
Important: Maximum continuous power available is derated linearly from 100% of maximum at 40°C, to 75% of maximum at 55°C.
Important: Specifications apply in the 25°C ±5°C region of the operating temperature range and to normal and transient modes unless otherwise noted.
Important: DC current accuracy specifications apply 30 seconds after input current is applied.
Important: Measurement specifications may degrade when the unit is subject to an RF field of 3 V/meter, line spikes of 500 V, or an 8 kV electrostatic discharge.
Important: Below 3 volts, the maximum bandwidth of the electronic load is reduced by a factor of ten to one; fast pulse trains with large transitions may not be achievable at low voltages.
Important: The N3302A, N3303A, N3304A, and N3307A modules each require one slot. The N3305A and N3306A modules each require two slots. The N3300A mainframe has 6 slots; the N3301A mainframe has 2 slots.
Important: Electronic load modules require an N3300A or N3301A mainframe for operation; modules are not standalone instruments.
Important: Options 908, 909, and 800 require either the slide kit (p/n 1494-0059) or support rails (E3663AC) to support the weight of the load mainframe.
Important: The Option 910 programming reference manual is supplied with the mainframes only, not with the modules.
Recommended pairing: install N3302A, N3303A, N3304A, or N3307A modules (one slot each) or N3305A and N3306A modules (two slots each) into either the N3300A six-slot full-rack mainframe or the N3301A two-slot half-rack mainframe per the datasheet's modular configuration guidance.
