National Instruments cFP-2000 Controller for Compact FieldPoint
Featured with 16 MB of DRAM, 32 MB Nonvolatile Internal Storage, one Ethernet Port, and one RS-232 Port, the National Instruments cFP-2000 (Part number: 777317-2000) is a Real-Time Ethernet FieldPoint Controller Interface. This model can operate as an embedded, stand-alone Controller or as a distributed, PC-based I/O interface. The NI cFP-2000 is known for its industrial grade reliability. This Controller offers automatic self-diagnostics, isolated communication with I/O modules, and is capable of handling redundant power supply inputs. With this Controller, users will be able to manage up to eight Compact FieldPoint digital and analog I/O modules. This bank of eight modules creates a node. Additionally, the device has a maximum cabling distance of 100 m per segment.
When building a network, the cFP-2000 National Instruments allows the user to choose between cabling options and I/O modules with a connector block. The user can achieve simple digital control objectives by using Boolean logic with LabVIEW Real-Time software embedded and operating on this model. Moreover, this arrangement can also be used for advanced and complicated control loops, including fuzzy logic and PID. For data logging, the cFP 2000 comes equipped with integrated memory and users can also add a removable CompactFlash drive for additional storage capacity. Transferring data from the Controller to a personal computer can be done with the help of the embedded FTP server provided on the cFP-2000.
The Ethernet port incorporated in this Controller works as a high-speed communication channel for performing run-time probing and debugging, downloading application code, and transmitting indicator and control values with a GUI operating on a separate yet networked personal computer. Moreover, the Ethernet port can also be employed for network communication through various protocols such as HTTP, UDP, TCP, and DataSocket.
The cFP-2000 has the LabVIEW RT Engine and FieldPoint software pre-installed, and can be programmed using software packages such as LabVIEW, LabVIEW RT, LabWindows/CVI, Measurement Studio, VI logger or Lookout. The device can be configured using the Measurement & Automation Explorer (MAX) tool.
The NI device weighs 9.8 oz. It has recommended operating and storage temperature ranges of –25 to 60 °C and –40 to 85 °C respectively.
