National Instruments SCXI-1377 Terminal Block

The NI SCXI-1377 (Part Number: 778716-01) is designed for use with the SCXI-1130 Switch Module. This Front-Mounting Terminal Block can configure the SCXI-1130 module as the following: 256x1, 1-wire multiplexer, 128x1, 2-wire multiplexer, 64x1, 4-wire multiplexer, or independently as a multiplexer or matrix configuration. This Terminal Block can also accomplish other multiplexer sizes constructed on the 16x1 building blocks of the SCXI 1130 Switch Module. The SCXI 1377 has spring terminals and screw terminals, which are utilized to link signals to the switch. There are screw terminals for the trigger input and trigger output signals available as well. National Instruments suggests utilizing 28 AWG wire (ribbon or discrete) for use with the SCXI-1377.

To link signals to the National Instruments SCXI-1377 Terminal Block, the user needs the Terminal Block, an SCXI chassis, an SCXI-1130 Switch Module, a 1/8 inch flathead screwdriver, a Philips screwdriver, a wire cutter, and a wire insulation stripper. Firstly, strip the insulation to 7 mm or less, then remove the top cover screw. Next, unsnap and take off the top cover. The user can then loosen the two strain-relief screws on the strain-relief assembly and take off the top strain-relief bar. Then, place the signal wires through the strain-relief opening. Next, the user can open every terminal and place the stripped portion of the wire in the terminal. Make sure the wire is firmly in place. Put the strain-relief bar back, then tighten the two screws on the strain-relief assembly to hold the cables in place. Lastly, install the top cover and top cover screw again.
