National Instruments USB-6259 Multifunction DAQ Device
The USB-6259 (Part Numbers: 779628-01, 780114-01, 779695-01, 194929-01) is a 16-bit Multifunction DAQ Device by National Instruments. This instrument supports two types of triggering: Analog Triggering and Digital Triggering. This device comes with two 32-bit counters. These counters are also known as timers. These counters/timers work at a rate of 80 MHz. There are additionally 32 single-ended or 16 differential analog input channels with each channel having a maximum sample rate of 1.25 MS/s. There are four analog output channels present in this device. This Multifunction DAQ Device offers Signal Streaming, which is available for four High-Speed Data Streams.
The part numbers for the USB-6259 differ depending on the connector type. Part number 779628-01 has a Screw Terminal connection, while part numbers 780114-01 and 779695-01 have BNC and Mass Terminal connector types, respectively. Part number 194929-01 identifies the board only version of the DAQ Device.
The NI USB-6259 incorporates NI-MCal technology to achieve accuracy for calibration. This Multifunction DAQ Device works with Windows Vista, Windows XP, and Windows 2000. The signal streaming integrates three innovative hardware-level and software-level design elements. This feature enables high-speed data streams and bidirectional data streams. The device has a recommended warm-up time of 30 minutes and should be calibrated at least once every 2 years.
The USB-6259 Multifunction DAQ Device allows the user to implement control loops. The user can perform multiple loops at the same time with the help of 32 analog input and 4 analog output channels, as well as multiple clocked digital lines. The device has a USB 2.0 bus interface that can be hi-speed or full-speed.
The physical dimensions of the device vary depending on the specific connector type of the enclosure. With the screw terminal connector, it measures 10.5 in. × 6.73 in. × 1.75 in (26.67 cm × 17.09 cm × 4.45 cm). The dimensions with the BNC connector are 11.25 in. × 6.7 in. × 2.7 in. The OEM (board only) version of the USB device weighs in at 6.1 oz (172 g).
