Applied Biosystems 3100-Avant Genetic Analyzer

Overview
The ABI 3100 Prism is a genetic analyzer that was retired in 2011 and utilized for medium through-put research only. The system featured electrophoresis and DNA sampling.

Condition Description
This instrument is in great condition and was manufactured in 2004, showing minor signs of age and wear. Many of the original stickers and internal components remain in good condition and are fit for use. The ABI Prism was acquired from a hospital in northern Ohio, presumably in use or storage prior to sale.  The instrument is missing the capillary array (a consumable), Arrays can still be purchased from Thermo Fisher Scientific.

Testing & Evaluation
New Life Scientific technicians were unable to power this instrument on without the correct power cord. The software, computer, consumables, and power cord must be supplied by the end user. The technicians noted that the instrument passed its safety check that was due again June 2016. This instrument will be sold as untested, but in functional condition.
